We like to think we're "thinking for ourselves," but really, we want others to tell us what to think, how to think.

A majority of us do not believe that we have enough creative juice to come up with a take of our own, so we borrow from the broadcasts and spew it out. It's easy to blame if it makes us look smarter.

The irony: we believe we want a freedom of choice. We believe we have the capability to choose but find ourselves in a paralysis of choice.

It's not that we want to choose for ourselves, we just can't stand the thought of having picked the wrong thing.
